For $1500 Canadian I don’t know if you can really go wrong... unless ICBC really rakes you over the coals, just because.

Then again, parts availability may become an issue at some point, if it hasn’t become one already.

I’ve always had a thing for mr2's though, and I always thought the first gen supercharged one was one of the coolest looking cars on the street. So, maybe.

On the other hand if I’m buying for myself I’d probably want something with equal or greater hp/tq than my e38. I don’t need to be revving the piss out of a 4 banger everywhere I go, because I will, and cops hate revs.

I was having similar thoughts, while I like the idea of a lovely and revvy 4 cylinder, I already have one 4 cylinder, I may as well get something with more cylinders, and torque. I love torque...

There used to be a kit that would allow you to drop an lt1 into the Fiero (presumably ls too).

I wonder how challenging/expensive it would be to work such magic on the MR... because if you could be in for under 5 grand total or so then it could very well be a more definite maybe. Maybe.

Too bad it’s not silver. That was my favorite color for the first gen. Had that futuristic all aluminum look reminiscent of the DeLorean... so cool.

That sounds like a solid deathtrap recipe haha. I’ve never looked into a V8 MR2, but I know people put the Toyota 3.5 V6 in them. That would be more than enough power for me I would think.

Oh yeah there was a one take of one of those, a Vanouverites car, no less

To each their own, sounds like a throaty ITB’d four cylinder to me

I prefer the metallic sound of a BMW four cylinder with ITBs, but that’s a far more expensive endeavour
